If BLUE is your colour, you will be enthralled by the many magnificent blue themed pieces that will be on display at the show from Nov 18 - Dec 4, 2016. Among such pieces are "The Basin" by Susan Sheppard, "Dog Walk" by Rebecca Warburton, "What Lies Beneath" by Ann Steer and "Auburn" by Peter Ryan.

about the artists

Susan Sheppard is a realist painter. She particularly enjoys large-scale landscapes rich in colour.

Her early experiences with her farming family gave her the freedom to explore the natural environment. It has left a life-long love of undisturbed habitat.

Water is an ever-present feature in Susan Sheppard's paintings. Even in harsh, dry locations, she generally chooses to depict aspects made lush by the gift of water.

Ann Steer developed her style without formal qualifications or study – her first choice of medium being pastels, painting varied subjects, but always been drawn back to the beautiful beaches, an endless supply of inspiration.

Light plays such a big part in her painting process, and she especially loves that time on the beach when the day is starting to cool, the shadows are creeping past the sand dunes, changing from hues of pinks to purple and blue as the sun sets.

Rebecca Warburton's favourite place to be is the beach – always observing the change of season and light, the clouds and the reflections.

The coast as the place from which she draws imagination and experience - allows for an ever changing subject. And the celebration of life depicting people at rest and play - a light hearted reflection on a day out at the beach - is a continuing line through her art works.

Leon Holmes is an award-winning Australian artist, lecturer and ambassador of plein air (open air) painting. He chooses to work on location as much as possible in order to capture the transient beauty of the light and landscape.

His work is dynamic, adventurous, constantly evolving and his unique style captures the essence of the natural light and breathes life into his paintings.

Peter Ryan is a Perth Based contemporary artist who specializes in oil paintings and pencil drawings. With a background in animation and script writing, he enjoys incorporating his passion for storytelling into his artwork.

Peter is inspired to recreate already picturesque environments into stylized trendy artwork, paying particular attention to the vivid palette of the landscape, but at the same time entertaining the onlooker through the tales of the characters.
